Beat the weather for once

Well, the sail down from Bundaberg was more of a motor-sail, though we did try to avoid the diesel-muncher as much as possible. The flat conditions had a lovely compensation as we were visited by a small pod of dolphins during much of the afternoon and were able to get some nice pics; they were behaving much more languidly than you normally see - slowly turning and occasionally jumping out of the water, and lazily riding our bow-wave. Two of them got into repeated scraps over who was going to catch the bow-wave, but it seemed good-natured. There was a strong SW change forecast, but we didn't have to put up with any of that - presumably it will come during the night.
The entry to Mooloolaba is shallow in places, moreso recently - there was a navigation warning out today on the Coast Guard radio about some recent shoaling - but it was high tide when we arrived and we had no real problems, except for a boatload of guys who seemed to be a bit tiddly, who were motoring down the river as we came up and who nearly rammed us in the dark. The foghorn aroused them from their reverie just in time!
It's late so we're off to bed, but more pics will be put in the gallery tomorrow
