Shorelines on reels

Long shorelines are widely used down here to tie up to rocks or trees on shore while anchored in tight spots. Charter boats and vessels that are spending the season down here had polyethylene lines on reels mounted on their foredeck or transom. These lines do not sink to the bottom when being dragged by dinghy. Some boats had flat webbing lines, which take up less space, but they don't float and vibrate in the wind, producing an annoying humming sound.
We used the two 120 meter polyethylene lines Wolfgng Kirsten (from the Patagonian Net) had lent us. For storage while underway we put them in two sailbags and then into the dinghy. It worked fine for us while we were cruising through the fjords. Here in Ushuaia we passed the lines on to the boat "Pacific Blue" with Peter and Paula onboard. They were now travelling north and would return the lines to Wolfgang when they reached Puerto Montt.
