Circumnavigation of South America is complete
13 August 2009 | St. Georges, Grenada

So here we were on the last leg of our trip around South America. We started at 08:00 hrs on August 9th from Ile Diablo, French Guyana and got into St. Georges, Grenada at 12:00 hrs on August 13th. During these 730 nautical miles we averaged a speed of 7.3 kts. Not too bad, although I really had wanted Benno to throttle up, because I could hardly wait to fly to Toronto to see and hug our 1st grandchild, Heidi.
No much had changed since our last visit to Grenada and I always find it comforting to know my way around town when revisiting an island. In short order we made arrangements to move Diesel Duck into Clarkes Court Bay Marina. Bernard Blanc, the owner of the marina and Leslie, his wife, came onboard for dinner and they helped us to celebrate our rounding of South America. A nice ending of a trip.
