Cruising on Diomedea
In 2008 Diomedea cruised the SW Pacific but for now she is confined to the eastern Australian coast.
Profile for Cruising on Diomedea

Captain: David and Andrea McKay
Hailing Port: Sydney
The Crew: David and Andrea McKay are the PBOs and probably should have known better. Jen and Charles Rezek also should have known better but have signed on for the passage from Sydney to NZ. They are both highly experienced sailors. They have sailed with us on Athena to Lord Howe island and on Diomedea during the 2005 Hobart race. Geoff Wayatt comes from a strong mountaineering background and is really the elder statesman of NZ mountain guiding. He is a longtime friend of ours and we recently trekked in the Himalaya with him. His sailing is more coastal than offshore so he has a learning curve in the days ahead.

Extra:
Diomedea is a fine example of the Van de Stadt design house. Built of steel and launched in 1998, she is the dream of Jeff and Sue Flowerday in Qld. We purchased her in 2005 and have since sailed several thousand miles offshore including Syd-Hobart, LHI, Coffs, Tasmania, and other coastal hops. However, she is really an ocean boat so lets see how she goes.
