the Maddalena Archipelago - Isola Budelli, Cala Nord (anchorage)
Belonging to the northern group, the uninhabited Isola Budelli lies to the south of Isola Razzoli and south west of Isola Sant Maria. It is separated by the 'Passo Secca di Morto (Deadman's reef passage), barely a few meters deep and not recommended for yachts with a keel. It is however accessible for shallow draft vessels like RIB's, dinghies, canoes and paddleboards.
dinghy trip, avoiding shallow patches and rocks
Many shallow draft yachts anchor in and around the entrance to this passage but yachts generally anchor between 'Deadman's Reef passage' and Cala Nord which is a few hundred meters away.
There is room for everyone no matter how small or super-sized the vessel. We arrived during the weekend... it was busy with RIB's, yachts, motor yachts and tripper boats but yet again by late evening there remained just 8 boats at anchor and a lone beach to walk along.
