Decided that today was the day to leave the marina. Normally we wouldn’t think twice about going out for a sail and staying overnight somewhere, however this time felt different given that we were leaving and not coming back for several weeks. We therefore decided to take our mooring warps off the jetty just in case someone felt the need to borrow them indefinitely!

The forecast was South West force 4-5 so would be quite a nice sail overall. We got as far as Start Point when the wind increased significantly which would make for an uncomfortable journey around the point and to Salcombe (wind against tide) which neither of us wanted so we aborted and headed back to Dartmouth (a luxury that we can now afford to do given that time is no longer an issue) with an overnight stay at Dittisham.
