We have spent the last few days walking around the streets of La Rochelle. It is a lovely, sophisticated old city, busy with people drinking or dining at one of the many bars and restaurants, creating a wonderful atmosphere.

The majority of streets are pedestrianised allowing you to admire all the old and very well preserved buildings. The majority being white washed with white shutters, iron balconies and red-roofed.

We also spent a couple more hours with David and Jeanette, owners of HT Grey Dove who kindly invited us on board for an evening meal of 'Curried Moules' accompanied with frites and far too many glasses of wine! We would definitely recommend Curried Moules once you've exhausted the 'Moules Mariniere', 'Moules Mariniere with Cream', 'Modules with Roquefort cheese', 'Modules Gorgonzola' (err ... ok, Moules are cheap here so we've had a few kilos!).
