We initially planned to visit Ile d'Oleron for a week before moving onto visit Ile-d'Aix and Ile de Ré, however we didn't appreciate that the remaining visitors berthed at La Rochelle (and that's a lot of yachts) also had to relocate due to the 'Grand Pavois' (boat show).

Reports were coming in that Ile de Re was nearing full capacity and that yachts were having to raft several abreast so we quickly made the decision to stay at St Denis on Ile d'Oleron until the end of September. There's no rush after all, as we can visit these two islands at the start of next season and use this as a 'shakedown' cruise before we continue to head South.

As co-incidence would have it, Stephanie and Barry off 'Festina Lente' also booked in for the month so we had some English speaking neighbours to chat with.
