Ibiza, Cala Yondal
This anchorage is a very popular spot where the rich and famous come to be wined and dined at the nearby beach bars & restaurants.
As well as the 'Tropicana Beach Club' bar, there is also the 'Blue Marlin' beach bar/restaurant offering a water taxi service to ferry exclusive clientele to the bar from their private yachts. It's a very popular club both by day and night.
We relaxed watching the antics aboard other boats, predominately super-sized motor yachts which appear to be very popular in Ibiza. We've seen staff aboard washing, cleaning and keeping everything 'shipshape and Bristol fashion'.
Many of these motor yachts have a 'toy room' where RIBs, jet skis, windsurfing boards, paddle-boards, dive equipment, inflatable sailing catamarans, petrol powered surf boards and much more are unloaded by the staff ready for their owners or their guests amusement.
By comparison we're feeling a little out of place but we have our dinghy, masks, snorkels and can offer first class dining of pizza, wine, beer at a fraction of the cost including being rocked from side-to-side for free! Our VIP guests were Sue and Andy off 'Psittakos 3' who stopped here overnight before heading off towards Formentera tomorrow.
Unfortunately we didn't manage to venture ashore because of the swell. Yet again it's managed to work its way into the anchorage making for a disturbed few nights sleep and landfall by dinghy pretty dangerous.
