Diva Di's Cruising Adventures

Setbacks, but still on schedule

02 February 2016
After arrival back home, we quickly had two occurrences that were setbacks to the plan.

During a visit by friends in mid-Nov, I suffered a bad knee injury playing Pickleball (like miniature tennis for older people) that laid me up for a bit. I later found that I need surgery and that will take place in mid-Feb, with a 6 week recovery.

Secondly, while we don't regret our actions, we wound up having to move my (Duane's) Mom from NJ to our home in FL in Nov. She stayed with us for two months before an apartment in the Assisted Living Facility opened up near us. Her health is pretty good, and she is acclimating well, so that is good news.

Mom has always wanted her children to live their lives, so she is adamant that we take off in May to continue our cruise. We have phones for frequent calls and airports as needed, so we can adjust as circumstances dictate.

Compared to our normal life, our last three months were a bit stressful, but we seem to be back on the road to normalcy.
