Never Stops
15 February 2018 | Gulf of Mexico 100 miles from Isla Mujeres
clear, warm, waves 2 m to starboard, wind coming north at 20 knots
have to motor - wind remains on the nose. fighting Gulf Stream and only making 3.5 knots, checking fuel level - what to do? Should we turn around and get full wind and go back to New Orleans 400 miles, to Houston 460 miles or continue on? Charlie amazing and rigs stuff to get every last drop of fuel from the tanks. We have 100 miles to go. Satellite phone (very expensive) doesn't work at all!! Forward bilge pump goes out so use our spare portable pump. sailing very slow starting generator for instruments. Had to use the spare battery Cass made me get to start the generator
