Home For The Holidays
22 December 2013
Wishing all our sailing friends and readers a very Merry Christmas!
We are now home in Kirkland and flew back to the U.S. from Auckland just before Thanksgiving. At the Auckland airport we came across a cardboard holiday photo booth promoting Kiwi travel and of course… we had to pose for their camera. The result? This year’s Christmas card.
We hope to stay close to home for the next few months, spending time with grandkids and family - and ski. Except for one brief morning session last year, it’s been over 2 years since we’ve done any real skiing. After all, we do have a boat named Double Diamond - it's time to see if we can still make turns, steep or otherwise.
Plans are to return to Double Diamond sometime after the holidays to enjoy late summer in the southern hemisphere and see more of New Zealand. And Double Diamond? She’s not for sale. It only took about one day in lovely New Zealand to change our minds about selling her.
Hope to see you in the New Year with more adventures!
