Half Way to Tortola

We have covered 800 miles in the seven days we've been out to sea. The winds have been very favorable enabling us to sail much of the time, but the seas have been rough giving us the opportunity to refine out ultimate pilates and balancing acts. Our weather router, Chris Parker, has been invaluable. From Florida Chris gives the up to date Caribbean weather to the Salty Dawg fleet in general then specifically to each boat as requested. He knows exactly where we are and based on winds, seas, and weather coming our way he gives us our best route. In one 24 hour period Dragon's Toy made 166 miles. We were like a rocket ship in the night. The best we would normally expect for a boat our size, weight and water line would be 125 miles. Bragging rights!!! One pot meals have been the order of the day, but then again, our appetites are somewhat diminished. No wind projected for today through most of the night so we are motoring on calmer waters. Keeping a close eye on the fuel consumption as we only carry 70 gallons. Come on wind!!
