We Made It!

We made it to Virgin Gorda today after 12 days at sea!
The weather during the trip was never terrible, although we had some good squalls One thing we learned was that Atlantic squalls are very different than Pacific squalls. In the Pacific, you see them coming, they toss you around for 15-30 minutes aqnd then they move on. Here in the Atlantic, they can blow hard all night long. 6 to 8 hours in a squall was not uncommon.
That is not saying we didn't take advantage of the squalls and have fun in them. One night we had winds just behind the beam blowing 30-40 knots. We wanted to make up some distance so we let her run. For 2 hours, we were flying along between 8 anf 9 knots. Saw one burst to 9.5knots. That is flying. Althrough it though, our little boat never complained, in fact she seemed to really enjoy finally getting a chance to really run.
Virgin Gorda seems very nice so far. When we have the chance to explore, we will take pictures and write more about here and our trip.
