Great Sail to Guadeloupe
16 March 2013 | Des Haies, Guadeloupe

We have been anchored in Deshaies, Guadeloupe for the past couple of days, having sailed down from Antigua. We left Antigua's Falmounth harbor on a beam reach in about 12 knots of wind. The seas were generally following with a long period swell. We were thinking it does not get much better than this. Well it did. The wind started to back and pretty soon we had an apparent wind angle of 120 degrees, so up when the chute. 2 hours sailing at 7 knots with the spinnaker up hardly ever needing to be trimmed. A very fun day sailing.
