Snorkeling

15 March 2010 | Isla Cristabol, Galapagos
March 14, 2010

We awoke to sunny windy skies so decided to take the dinghy just north of the anchorage (15 minutes) to the inlet around from the lighthouse point. We anchored the dinghy in 20' and went into the refreshing water. Five seals swam close by and around us. A turtle quietly paddled by letting us follow a short distance back. The water was clear and we saw large angel fish, large parrot fish and a variety of smaller fish. There is no spearfishing in the Galapagos so Steve just got to look at the "cabrillo" (bass) our usual dinner fish.

After a lazy afternoon, we dined on a Galapagos chicken. Half of the chicken weighed 6 pounds! They sure grow them big here, it looked like a small turkey. After diiner we played Mexican Train with David taking the honors.
