Waking up from a winter's sleep

Last weekend my son, DJ, and I drove down to Maryland to do some spring commisioning before our scheduled launch date of 4/27. This was DJ's first view of the boat and he was excited to see her, though he seemed more thrilled with the dingy? Go figure... We were able to get the bottoms painted as well as perform some of the critical engine maintence, ie. hoses, belts, fluids and saildrive oil seals. I know boring stuff, but critical with the upcoming delivery planned for the first of May. Our plans for the next several months to get ready is as follows: Lisa is headed down to Fort Lauderdale this weekend with my sister Donna to get ASA certified on a sailing cat. The plan here is for Lisa to become the sailing expert so I can take on the roll of galley slave. Of course I'm kidding, have you ever seen me cook? Next, the end of April all of us will be heading down during school break for the launching. We plan on sailing Dream Catcher up the Chesapeake into Annapolis where Lisa and the kids will get on a plane to fly home and our good friends (delivery crew) will arrive. Jack Bernier the resident sailing guru with tons of experience together with John Anastas a man with no sailing experience but a huge passion to take on any adventure will help me bring Dream Catcher home to NH.
