After the difficulty anchoring in Nantucket harbor, we decided to a change of venue was in order. We headed up the bay to the head of the harbor which is located about five miles up the bay on the eastern-most side of the island. It turned out to be a very remote location in comparison to the main harbor. We anchored about 50 yards off the beach and set two anchors in about 7' of water. On the way in, we spotted millions of Moon Jellyfish, which we found out, were pretty harmless with a mild sting but still managed to freak us out. We spent several days here exploring the beaches, snorkeling and knee boarding. The last night we were there, we experienced our first sever thunderstorm. It hit about midnight and as I got up to check it out, Nikki came running all freaked out, (she's not a fan of lightning storms, especially on a boat) and somehow DJ managed to sleep right threw it. It was a pretty amazing sight watching it come in, pass overhead and then out all within 30 minutes. After spending three days there, it was time to head back to Nantucket harbor because we were expecting out first mail delivery and needed to get to the post office. All our mail is being forwarded to my parent's house so they can filter through it and send along the important stuff once a month to whatever location we are at. For those who did not know, there is a thing called "general delivery, which is when you address a package with the term general delivery instead of a street address. The post office will hold the package until you come and claim it. Pretty neat, and it actually worked. Thanks Mom and Dad.
