6th June 2016, Valencia to Puerto de Siles 39 40.40N:00 11.9W
Today Mike was determined to sail without an engine regardless of what the wind was doing. As we headed out of the marina a British boat was on the arrival pontoon just making its way off, the chap on the deck shouted "nice boat" and then I realised it was identical and one we had seen on anchor in Formentera, "oneway". He said he was keeping an eye on us on the AIS and will catch us up along route.
As luck had it there was a slight breeze and with the sails up we gently bobbed along at a speed ranging from 1.6 to 4.9 knots but hey we sailed all the way and the sun shone down. It was heaven, you could hear the water rushing past the boat hull and echoing up the sink outlet.
When we arrived at Puerto de Siles and made our way round to the office we noticed a film crew on the beach next to the marina, the main activity was packing up.
7th June 2016, Puerto de Siles to Burriana
This morning I noticed the film crew were once again setting up with cameras, lights and a food stall. Three police arrived and stood around for a bit, took photos and cleared off. Mike went and had a look as the young woman made her way along the beach followed by cameras. Then a quick look at the footage under the black canopies and another take. Men brushing the sand, make up reapplied and a gentleman with a parasol protecting the woman from the sun between takes.
Another hot day but we were not able to sail without engine. We arrived at Burrianna and the prevailing wind made it difficult for us to moor. We aimed for one berth and ended up on another. I was busily fending off our anchor from the motor boat next to us, as the marinero pulled up the slime line it was attached to another boat so we had to move to another berth. Again as we manovered into position we struggled against the wind but once the slime line was attached we were ok.
