Bahia de Caraquez
06 September 2015
September 3 – 6, 2015 Well, we tried to clear in but the agent told us as we were only here a few days it would be better to wait till La Libertad (it takes at least 4-10 days to get paperwork from Manta) so we spent our time filling the diesel tank with 28 jerry jugs (they were delivered to us - $1.50/gal) found a grocery, bought a Claro Ecuador SIM card for the phone (4 trips to telephone guy to accomplish this – still don’t know what he did to our unlocked phone!!), attended a potluck with Debbie and Vincent (s/v Serendipity), Jeff (s/v Sailor’s Run) and Kim and Catalina and of course found a coffee drink! We are virtually on the Equator and the temperatures are 20 degrees cooler than Panama (thank you Humboldt current!). We are anchored just in front of the Puerto Amistad moorings and are enjoying a peaceful anchorage at night as the town seems to roll up the sidewalks – yay!
