Golfito to Puerto Jimenez
03 February 2016
February 2 - 3, 2016 Muddy anchor up, moved into Banana Bay marina for fuel and water – motored nine miles across the bay to Puerto Jimenez – love these short passages! Followed our favorite mega yacht Dorothea III (previously they had asked us to move anchorages in Golfito and presented us with a six pack of beer as a thank you!). Bruce wanted to anchor too close to them again hoping for a dinner invitation, but better judgment prevailed (me!). Dinghied to the Crocodile Resort pier, walked into town then returned for lunch/drinks at the resort. Found a lovely gift shop along the way and bought a Boruca Indian dagger (can you see the purple cord?) – thank you Lord! The Boruca is an indigenous tribe in Costa Rica with approximately 2,700 members still remaining – they are known for their beautiful balsa wood masks, hardwood carvings and basketry. The Boruca farm and fish the southern part of Costa Rica with their craftwork being their main income.
