Mexico City

Today we took a day tour to the Chapultepec area - this 1,695 acre area contains five museums, two tranquil lakes, a zoo, an amusement park with one of the world's largest roller coasters, a relaxing botanical garden and many quiet walkways. The centerpiece of the park is Chapultepec Palace (photo is from the balcony) overlooking the Paseo de la Reforma, and included the Anthropological Museum where the famous Aztec Calendar Stone is on display. On our return to the hotel we explored the Zocalo area and local shops. What a lovely city - we hope to return someday!
