August 23 – September 3, 2016 We have been enjoying the lovely towns of Santa Cruz and La Crucecita – there are lots of restaurants, good groceries and a coffee shop! This is a cruise ship port and resort area, but this is low season so we have the towns to ourselves! Twice a month there is an organic market in the town square – our treasures were Jamaica liqueur (hibiscus petals), whole grain bread, gouda cheese, tamales, chocolate tortillas, HUGE lemons, coffee and morada (purple) bananas and pineapple bananas - yum!
