Yelapa Panga Trip
13 September 2017
Today we got together with friends from four other boats here in the marina and rented a panga to go to the small town of Yelapa just across the bay. This is the location of the 1962 film “Night of the Iguana” with Ava Gardner, Deborah Kerr and Richard Burton. It was agreed by all - Rick and Sharon (s/v Between the Sheets), Dennis and Janet (s/v Trident), Tony (s/v Volante III) and George (s/v Circadian) that none of us wanted to drag on mooring balls (the general consensus of cruisers going to this bay) so an easy day was enjoyed with a local panga and driver. The waterfall was cool, the food great and the day was completed with swimming through “Los Archos” on the way home – thank you Lord!
