It's Colombian cooking class day! We walked the short distance to the house of Dona Elsa and spent the morning learning to make the traditional Colombian Ajiaco soup. We walked with her to the local markets buying chicken, three kinds of potatoes, spinach (the recipe calls for guasca, the Colombian herb that the rest of the world considers a weed, but the market was out) and peas. While our soup was cooking we enjoyed Lulo smoothies. A simple Colombian chicken and potato soup topped with cream and fresh cilantro – great eats!
