Puerto Perme to Caledonia
16 March 2015
Well, after almost two weeks in Puerto Perme we have decided to brave the seas which have dropped from 12' to 9'. We battened down the hatches (read: we are ready for big waves) and headed out. It wasn't a comfortable trip, but it was only three hours to sheltered water and we were thankful for a new anchorage. Shortly after anchoring we were visited by the town representatives with a two page list of do's and don'ts (mostly don'ts) - we paid our $5 anchoring fee and decided we didn't need to pay another $3 per person to go ashore, $1 for photos of locals, wouldn't give candy to children, drop trash, no swearing, dress codes, etc. Think we'll stay on the boat!! We watched another sermon in Andy Stanley's New Year's series "Re:Solution" - the essence of following Jesus is self denial, not self improvement. To deny yourself is to say no to you, so you can say yes to something bigger than you.
Mark 8:35 For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it.
