A long time coming

January 9th. That was the day we were supposed to depart our slip at Keppel Bay Marina for our annual pilgrimage up the Malacca Straits to Langkawi and Phuket. Friend on board. $1,000 worth of provisions on board. Ready to slip the docklines. Catastrophic engine failure. It took us a week to come to terms with it, a month to do the research on the best option, interruptions for month long trips to the USA and Australia for elderly mum emergencies, Chinese New Year, a major screw up by the Perkins engine dealer. A "come to Jesus" meeting with same and the Vice President of Perkins Asia Pacific. Agreement. Work, and finally, with the help of our excellent mechanic, Jeff, we were able to return our engine to its rightful place today, 4.5 months after it was lifted out. Essentially a heart transplant! Now to knit it all back together again and start sea trials by end of May. We need to put 50 hours on the donk before taking her out of Singapore, then plan to do a short trip to Tioman, on Malaysia's east coast, late June. Yeeeaaaa !!
