A different marina

Thunder storms
Tonight Smithville. We have either stayed or anchored outside of a hundred marinas in the past months. None compare to Smithville. The people are nice, but; it is like Dogpatch in the Li'l Abner comics. It was like a cemetery for old boats. For a contrast, a fifty foot yacht had pulled alongside for the night. It was quite comical. We anchored out, as we usually like to do. Then, because the guide book said there was a "Piggly Wiggly" grocery store a mile away went for a walk. After a while we asked a local how far to the store. 7 miles was the reply, the other store had been destroyed in a level 5 tornado as well as half the town. We settled for a Dollar Giant!
With the rain and clouds the humidity has been stick at.....99% for the last four days. I did not know that you could hit that number, and not be underwater!
This morning under light cloud cover we brought up the anchor and went into a small dock to pick up our bicycles. Just as we came alongside, thunder and lightning as well as torrential rain came out of nowhere. We waited another half hour before venturing out to retrieve bikes.
Went through 5 locks today starting with an 86 foot drop. By days end we had descended 171 feet. Ears still popping!
