In June my youngest daughter Louise travelled out to Alaska to join me onboard
Sänna whilst Marie stayed back in England for Henry's final school exams. To meet up with her I sailed
Sänna the forty miles or so from Hoonah to Auke Bay just north of Juneau, all the way there worried about docking solo in the absolute chaos that is Auke Bay's Edward Statten Harbour. Luckily, our good friends Leighton and Lynda onboard their ketch
Morning Star were already in the harbour, so I was able to raft up alongside them to tie up relatively safely... it was good to see them again. The shit hole harbour is notoriously difficult because of the fishing fleet based there which is compounded by the obscene numbers of tourists boats that go out chasing whales, they serve the relentless cruise ships that dock in Juneau for the so called 'Alaskan' experience...
