Heading North

Yesterday we reached the North Pole. From here we can only go south, a quite strange feeling. The weather had been foggy and windy but as we stepped onto the ice the sun broke the fog and the wind stopped. We had champagne, barbecue and the ordinary picture. After an hour of leisure we had to work. A piston core sample was taken from the seabed right at the very north pole. This revealed the Russian bluff, there is no titanium flag on the seabed, we got a perfect sample of 6.3 m mud.

Heading south...

The fine weather has come to the northern Arctic regions. It has been sunny and calm for several days in a row. The work load has been very heavy due to new and poorly designed equipment. Hopefully it will calm down with work eventually because the Oden Open Ping Pong tournament has started.

We have reached the ice and are now breaking our way through the ice to get forward. It is quite impressive to see the power of the vessel.
