Mark!
24 March 2007
Mark(our nephew) arrived Friday afternoon from San Diego! We have been anchored in Charlotte Amalie Harbour for the past week, off of the CYOA charter dock. We have had a reunion with our friends on s/v Tradition and s/v Que Rico! We all spent hurricane season in Greanda and now they are working here at CYOA for 6 months during the charter season. Daniel and John have been having fun playing with Micah on the docks. The boys all had there skateboards out and were attempting to master different skateboard tricks. Our "surfer/skateboard" nephew decides to show the little ones a few of his tricks on the skateboard- the boys are impressed- however the owner of CYOA yachts is not as impressed with Mark's boarding ability and informs us we are no longer allowed to "play" on his docks! The skinny is that we have been asked to leave!! Soooo, Mark has graduated from University and holds a respectable job, however it seems that some things still haven't changed!! Side Note; The boys have been running on the docks all week and we have basically worn out our welcome. It really wasn't Mark's fault!
We weighed anchor and sailed around to the island of St John. The Rolex Regatta is being held here this week and we were sailing right through all of the sail boats as they were racing! We had to keep a sharp eye out to stay out of everyones way! No worries. We dropped the hook off the north shore of St John in Trunk Bay. It is a beautiful bay and the water is crystal clear. Mark and Daniel went for a snorkle and saw lots of fish and nice coral. Menno and Mark started on their first keg of Heineken- we stocked up on mini-Heineken kegs while in St Maarten knowing that "Marky" was going to be joining us! Fresh Mahi mahi for dinner and a great first day with Mark!
