Dreamin' of Sailing

Back with group - Puerto Escondido

29 January 2017
Sunny and Windy
We got an early start and the caravan decided to delay their departure, so we all got back together at Puerto Escondido. It is a short drive up to Mulege today, so everyone seemed fine getting a late start. Now, after driving the entire length of the Baja peninsula, I have more of an appreciation for just how beautiful this area is compared to the flat, dry desert and agricultural areas of the Southern part of the peninsula. After leaving Ciudad Constitucion, we entered a mountainous region with interesting terrain, large cacti, lots of the Caracara birds, and magnificent vistas of the turquoise waters of the Sea of Cortes. It was extremely windy today, and the caravan was moving at a faster speed, so the narrow and windy roads became a little stressful for Dave. We had to back off a little, as 45-50 mph seems to be a pretty comfortable speed and allows Dave to enjoy the scenery, as well.
