Mulege -- Sunglasses and water bottles for the children and fishermen

09 February 2017
The Mt. Bachelor Rotary Club arrived in Mulege with hundreds of collapsible water bottles and sunglasses. There are a lot of eye/vision problems due to the lack of eye protection. While wandering the streets, doing interviews, passing schools, we distributed sunglasses to all. These were some of the most memorable moments. The kids yelled and danced with excitement. We would drive through town and see the kids and parents walking down the street wearing their glasses and they would recognize us and wave. One day we ran across a school group picking up garbage along the river and we were able to talk to the teachers and distribute glasses to the whole class. These are the moments that make a service project magical.
