Today we spent our first day in Key West and experienced different things. After getting up pretty early, we drove from Marathon, where we spent the night to Key West and went to our boat first thing in the morning. We unloaded our stuff and had a 4 hours (!) checkout of our catamaran, Catatonic. She explained us every little detail and told us everything about wind scientists, her good friend in Astoria and her childhood in Adelboden Switzerland. That was kind of funny, that she spent a lot of summers there and used to speak Swissgerman.
After the checkout, we had to do some more grocery shopping and finally ended up in Key West, where we just explored the streets and shops a little bit, saw the sunset and drove by the southernmost point of the United States. I'm hoping to have a little bit more time in Key West because it's such a nice island with pretty buildings and interesting shops. But I think we'll have some more time exploring Key West later in the week because tomorrow we're going sailing with our catamaran for the first time down here in the Keys. I'm so excited about that!!
