Voyage to Vava'u - Day 3

Very uneventful evening and night watches; we were either bathed in brilliant moonlight or blanketed by cloud cover as the occasional squall drifted by. We did welcome one brief rain shower that was sufficient to clear the decks of the salt of the last couple of days. During the course of the night, the easterly wind drifted north and dropped out to under 10 knots, sufficient to require us to motor sail for a few hours today in order to ease our way back to our rhumb line. The wind is once again easterly and we are hoping that it will continue to track southerly and deliver the forecast SW trades. The sea state has abated and we are now enjoying a gently rolling 1 to 1.5M southerly swell. For the 24 hours to 0800 on 6/10, we ticked off a further 141 NM of this passage.
Miss Lee - am sure your special birthday celebrations at SYC were fabulous! We will raise a glass of the last of our French Poly bubbles when we make landfall :) Happy, Happy Birthday Gorgeous!
All well onboard.
