Moving up the Chain
26 April 2010 | Highborne Cay, Exumas
This trip with Adam is part of our trip back to the states. We have been to Staniel Cay, Big Majors Spot, Black Point Settlement, Compass Cay, Warderick Wells, Shroud Cay, and now Highborne. It has been a great time. Adam has gotten in a lot of snorkeling, and has a major shell collection for California. Unfortunately, he probably won't be able to fit them into his luggage, so I'll be responsible for shipping them to him from somewhere in the states. The photo here is from the Exuma Land and Sea Park at Warderick Wells. He's standing in front of the skeleton of a 52 ft long sperm whale that died there in 1995. So far we haven't seen anything like that, just lots of fish-big and small-along with lots of rays and sharks. We'll be here a couple of days waiting out some nasty storms, and then on to Nassau where Adam will get a plane to fly to Jacksonville to see his grandfather for a short visit and then back to work in San Francisco. Then we'll be on our way back to Florida when we get a weather window, and up the coast--hoping to make Virginia towards the end of May. It is time to get home and see what shape the houses and gardens are in!
