THIEF

Looks innocent, doesn't he? Wrong. He practices that guile-less look. He is an efficient and sneaky thief. We were warned before we adopted him--they said "he likes to climb on things", but they didn't tell us why. And then there was that episode in Williamsburg when he climbed on the dining room table and ate 2/3 of a perfectly cooked rib eye steak. But we thought--ah, it was our fault--we put it there and left the room.
On this trip, the first thing he did was climb on top of the freezer and eat most of a white cake with chocolate chips and pecans, leaving the pan clean. Then, the night we had company in the cockpit for Mexican food and put the bowl with the two remaining tamales on the table downstairs, not thinking that he was there. When it was time to do the dishes, no tamales, but the paper wrappers were neatly left in the bowl. And then yesterday, he really did it--up onto the seat at the nav station (we were off on a bike ride), up on the shelf--Larry's stash of Hershey's kisses with almonds! He did have trouble getting the foil wrappers off, so I imagine he ate some foil also.
So now we have learned! (maybe) -- there is a food thief aboard. I suspect he shares with Carrie. But we know he is the THIEF!
