We launched this morning at about 08:30. The engine and new stuffing box worked well and we were on our way. The Bay was very calm today and a lot of boats were heading South. We saw our first Pelicans today (if you look closely you can see a couple on the roof of Wolftrap Lighthouse) as we passed Wolftrap Lighthouse and rounded New Point Comfort into Mobjack Bay. Pelicans are a sure sign you are getting into the Southern part of the Atlantic Coast. We left Mobjack to come up the East River and anchor in Put-In-Creek. It's a protected anchorage and one of our favorites. We're going to sit here for a few days to allow more of the water to recede after all the flooding in North Carolina. We may start toward Portsmouth and the ICW around the 18th. We'll see. We're taking every day one day at a time.
