Christmas in New York and Massachusetts

Lawrence/ Glad to be back South/ 57 degrees
First, let me say, we flew from Orlando to Newark and back without a hitch. It was nice not to deal with brutal cold and snow this year during our visit back home with our family and friends.
We spent a lovely time with Susan before Christmas and we even got the chance to see many of Elaine's former co-workers at Williams College. Visits with Susan are always special and so relaxing. We had dinner at Mill On The Floss, a treat for all three of us.
From Susan's we went for a short stop with Jessica and Peter at their home in Claverack. It was wonderful to catch up with the two of them. We'll be seeing them again in Ft. Myers Beach and we can't wait!
The rest of the holiday was spent at Andrea and Jordan's home. On Christmas Eve we were joined by Angela and Ron Bracciante, from Eaton's Neck, right through the day after Christmas. The Myers' clan came over for Christmas Eve dinner and on Christmas Day Uncle Timothy and his daughter came for Christmas dinner. We had a great Christmas Day! Santa was very good to us.
We got to see Justin play soccer and basketball. Elaine was able to watch Marisa at gymnastics. We watched sappy movies and tons of football. We just had a very lovely time.
New Year's Eve we went bowling with the Myers, the Frisbies and our whole crew. Pizza, beer, cookies and bowling with 7 kids and 8 big kids- it just doesn't get better than that. We even managed to stay up long enough to see the BALL drop in Times Square.
So now we're back. We used the rental car to provision up, then waited until this morning for light winds. The winds can make getting out of the docks tricky, so light winds make the whole process real easy. Tonight we're anchored back on the Banana River near Dragon Point. Tomorrow we'll be in Vero Beach. We've had a month off the boat and now we're heading South once again. Perhaps with all the excitement of the holidays behind us, we will be able to gather ourselves into a routine and update our blog notes more regularly. It was a wonderful Christmas and we are blessed to have such a great family who supports our adventure!
Fair winds & Smooth sailing,
Elaine & Lawrence S/V Elle & I
