O.K. A lot of water has passed under our keel since last we wrote. We had a really nice trip outside from Miami to Ft. Lauderdale. We even managed to make it to Lake Boca Raton that evening. Not without mishap. Our engine just died under a bridge. Fortunately the current pushed us on through. I ended up replacing the fuel filter. The next day it happened again. It was then I discovered the real culprit was no fuel. We had 15 gallons of fuel on deck which we added and were able to keep going to Vero Beach. Who knows where I messed up, but I sure am watching the fuel more closely now. We stayed in Vero for 3 days rafted with Donna, Craig and Dylan on M/V Mighty Fine. It was so nice to catch up with them and hear about their trip to the Bahamas. They look happy don't they! We left Vero Beach Wednesday heading for Cocoa Beach or as far as we could get. We had to stop at Cocoa because we blew a connection off the water heater. I was able to walk to a hardware store and get parts for a temporary repair. I'll do a lasting repair once we reach Charleston. It's leaking a few drops right now, but nothing that can't wait till I can get use of transportation to get all the "right Parts". Today we're going to try to make it all the way to Daytona about 68 statue miles. It will be a long day, one of many long days to come. We are pushing hard to get up to the Chesapeake where we will leave the boat on the hard for several months. I have some hip replacement surgery to get out of the way, so we'll be land based this Summer.
Fair winds & Smooth sailing,
