Stingray Point Boat Works
30 April 2015 | Stingray Point Boat Works, Deltaville, VA
Lawrence/ Cloudy with light rain/ 63 degrees
Well, if you check our current position, you'll see we're in the yard here in Deltaville. We left the East River early (05:30) to take advantage of the light SW winds and remaining tidal push. By 11:47 we were turning into the travel-lift sling here at Stingray Point Boat Works. The crew hauled us out, power washed the hull, brought us out into the yard and set us up on jack stands.
As you can see, the outside of the boat needs a lot of work! Will get going on that after tomorrow's rain moves on out. For the next couple of weeks, Elaine and I will be cleaning and packing up the boat for storage during the rest of the Spring and Summer. This morning we cleaned out under the Port side settee and began cleaning the dinghy for storage on deck. Tomorrow we'll install the new water heater. You get the idea. We won't be back on the boat until after the grandchildren go back to school in September.
We'll try to keep you posted on our progress, if we're not to tired to write.
Fair winds & Smooth sailing,
Elaine & Lawrence S/V Elle & I
