Meaning of Xmas

15 December 2013 | Marthon, Fl
Shirl/rainish
Hi World,

I just experienced a joy of Christmas. Not the canned, commercialized events of television/ mass media fame. But a special moment shared and a priceless smile. How did it happen? It started with a restaurant.

There is a special place in the village of Marathon, FL that warms my heart and helps me to feel welcome. It is a local restaurant that was mentioned in a previous blog. In this restraint is a special lady that has a smile that would melt even the most callous heart. She knows who she is......

She took us into her confidence and told us a small irritation in her life. It seems that she finds being alone on the beach very regenerating.
The trouble is that she has difficulty being alone when she visits the beach. Even if there are only one other at the beach, they will sit close to her. Why not some place. away from her... one of those mysteries of life.

In a sprit of brilance Ed and I decided to get her a beach privacy kit. It included four bright orange posts about four feel long, rubber mallet, and a huge roll of yellow caution tape.

She figured out the meaning of the objects as she was unwrapping the gifts. The objects were not valuable yet she graced us with a priceless smile and laugh that I shall remember for years.

Thank you for a priceless gift.....
