September Boat Repair
21 October 2012 | Coco Plum
Shirl/warm
Where did September go??? Good question???? Most of the month was spent with the hassle associated with the polishing of my diesel fuel... what A STINKY MESS!!!
I had the engine worked on before the fuel polishing people arrived. After the fuel polishing has complete my boat reaked of diesel. It turns out 10 gallons of fuel ended up in my bilge.
How do I know it was 10 gallons because of my fuel gauge. Tank wnet from full to the top to half....
But the fuel polishing people blamed it on the engine mechanic. Mean while I was living in boat with a fuel soaked bilge. They told me to put out coffee grounds and it would absorb the smell. Ha... how much coffee grounds does it take to soak up the smell 10 gallons of fuel spilled in my boat?
A lot of finger pointing and dodging of the facts resulted in my bilge finally getting cleaned of fuel and no one happy with the mess and expense.
Such is life in the boating world!!
I do not have a photo to go with this story. Probably for the best.!!!
