Hello...
Before I introduce myself, I have a confession to make; I am not a sailor. I have never sailed (except the few times I was a passenger) and in fact do not own a boat and never have.
I am a novelist (unpublished), and am presently working on my forth novel, titled 'Entwined'. The story takes place on a far-away world, called Zukulia, which is largely ocean. The main character, Evelyn Hatfield, is a young woman who lives on a continent about the size of South America. The population of this continent has long believed that they possess the only land on the planet, and are the only intelligent life on the planet. Stories of a sister-land have existed for as long as can be remembered. Courageous (or insane) explorers have sought this mythical land, but none have returned. Evelyn is determined to solve the puzzle. The story is about her learning to sail in a world where so few do, and then her solo voyage into a fantastic unknown.
I have joined your community in the hope of connecting with someone who'd be willing to read a work in progress (could be embarrassing for me) and advise me on the sailing terminology and related issues.
