Crisfield and Tangier

Somers Cove Marina in Crisfield is an excellent facility with new docks, reasonable rates, and a "pay for 2 get one free" policy. We paid for 4 nights and stayed for 6.
The town itself is clearly suffering a degree of economic stress, but it remains the "softshell crab capital of the U.S."
Friday we took the ferry to Tangier Island and enjoyed a little step back in history. The locals have an old English accent said to be similar to the accent in Cornwall, and many families trace back to the original settlers of 1686.
Saturday was mostly boat chores and laundry, but we did have an excellent dinner at the Waterman's Inn.
Sunday was the annual Softshell Crab Festival on the city dock, a little slice of Americana not seen by many people.
Monday we used the dinghy to tow the kayaks to Jane's Island State Park. This is an area of marsh land with over 30 miles of marked water trails. We kayaked through the marshes for several hours, but the scarcity of wildlife was disappointing.
Today we toured the local museum and learned an excessive amount about blue crabs. It's gotten hot and humid, so since we have shore power, we decided to take advantage of the air conditioning. Tomorrow is forecast to be cooler.
In the morning we will leave early for Cambridge where we plan to stay for several days. We will rent a car in order to go see the wild ponies on Chincoteague Island. Still no buyer for the boat
