Catalina

In August we joined the annual SBYC summer cruise to Catalina Island. This is a 2 week marathon to Avalon and Cherry Cove; we had last participated in the adventure about 10 years ago on our sailboat. Doing it on Eos was most comfortable, but the entire experience was far removed from the peaceful isolation of British Columbia and Alaska. But at least no rain.
As for the future: we have already signed contracts for transportation to the east coast. If all goes as planned, we will move the boat to Ensenada, Mexico, in the late fall, and will load as deck cargo on a bulk carrier. We will off load in Port Everglades 2 to 3 weeks later, and in January will begin our adventures on the east coast. Initially we plan to stay in Florida and the Bahamas until the weather warms, then we will work our way north on the Intracoastal Waterway. Whether we make it to Maine and the Canadian Maritimes will be settled later.
