Greg Dorland & Debbie Macrorie became the new caretakers of Escapade in May 2008. Along with many friends and relatives we have sailed her to Baja California, Mainland Mexico, Hawaii and back to San Francisco, Mexico, Central America and through the Panama Canal to the Caribbean. [...] We have been fortunate to visit many destinations in the Western and Eastern Caribbean, Cuba, Bahamas, Bermuda and the U.S. East Coast. In June of 2015 we sailed to Azores and on into the Western Mediterranean. We visited the Eastern Mediterranean in the summer of 2016 and then onward to Greece and Turkey in 2017 & 2018. November 2018 finds Escapade sailing back across the Atlantic to the Caribbean. After an enjoyable season back in the Eastern Caribbean we hauled Escapade in St. Martin for new antifouling and a wax of the hulls. After splashing down Debbie and I immediately left St. Martin for Bermuda. Enroute we received an updated weather report showing two bad storms approaching Bermuda to coincide with our arrival. Looking at each other we decided to double-hand back to the Med as we really didn't want to leave the year before. We beat our previous fully crewed passage to Azores by three days! After a wonderful summer rediscovering the Western Mediterranean Escapade sailed to Cartagena, Spain to re-power her Volvo engines prior to crossing back to the Caribbean once again. Our winter 2020 Caribbean adventure has been greatly altered by the Corona virus pandemic. We are currently hunkered down in Grenada with limited mobility and a curfew. As of today, March 26, 2020, there is but one reported case of Covid-19 on the island. We'll watch the evolving situation before deciding to summer-over here in Grenada or make a break back to the US. Good luck to everyone out there!
