Hello again! Sorry this is a bit late in coming, there have been some problems with the website i think. Anyway, we set off from Hartlepool at around 8am after Martin joined us and headed up the coast towards Aberdeen. There was a little bit of wind behind us and the sea was relatively calm which made the 30 or so hours it took to get there quite easy going as we all got used to how the boat worked when sailing. We have seen lots of types of birds ( including puffins) flying about and schools of dolphins in the harbour of Aberdeen. Tanya and Katherine met us at the harbour so we have a complete crew now! There were no showers at Aberdeen and despite a plea to the captain of an Oil tanker next to us we had to wait until Orkney. A friendlier person we met was a nearby fisherman who, after a quick chat, gave us 3 mackerel from his boat which later made a tasty dinner. We all found Aberdeen to be a nice place and martin and I even managed to attend a Jimmy Carr gig and sample some local cuisine; battered haggis, chips and curry sauce. We set off for Orkney on the morning of Tuesday 21st. Photos to follow.
