Saco de Mamanangua
05 February 2011
Saco de Mamangua, a beautiful deep sided Ria. Not quite as isolated as we expected, there is now electicity and many rather nice houses all the way up the valley. Still no roads, but who needs roads if you have a large motor boat to commute in. We a anchored at the head of the Ria overnight, where you can continue by tender up the Rio Cairucu through the mangroves to a waterfall. We decided against it as it was very hot, but it turned out to be the right decision as we later found out you have to wade through the mangroves in places dragging the dingy and the walk to the waterfall is 2-3 hours.
