I had an early start today as there is always plenty to stow away prior to departure and Chris likes a full cooked English Breakfast to set him up for the passage (?in case he does not get another cooked meal until arrival). We were due at customs at 10.00h and have to leave within the hour, so everything has to be ready before going to customs. As it turned out we had time on our hands as the customs visit kept getting put back so actually ran out of internet (having checked facebook and surfed the Debenhams Sale) and did not go through reef until 17.00h. Initially very calm and sunny and I remarked to Chris that it would be lovely if it could continue like this, famous last words! The day had been very hot and humid, we could see and hear a thunder storm building up inland, so were relieved to get away before it struck. Unfortunately it followed us out to sea bringing with it with winds up to 40knt giving a rather uncomfortable ride. In the first 12 hrs we logged 102.8 nm and look like making 180+ for the 24.
